Background
As the Laboratory Operations Manager, Allan is part of the Laboratory Operations and Facilities Support team, ensuring the Burnet Institute’s laboratories and facilities are maintained to a high standard.
Allan comes to us from the Olivia Newton John Cancer Research Institute where he studied breast cancer metastasis as a postdoctoral researcher and managed laboratory operations for multiple laboratories within the Translational Breast Cancer Program.
He has worked at numerous institutes across Australia including the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Institute for Molecular Bioscience and Queensland Institute of Medical Research, where he has also studied melanoma and inflammatory diseases.
Allan has a broad range of technical experience in genetics, molecular and cellular biology, and preclinical models.
