Background
Tom’s undergraduate studies were in Biomedical sciences with a focus on neuroscience. He shifted his focus to applied mathematics via a diploma in mathematical sciences continuing this path into postgraduate studies.
His postgraduate research involved the development and investigation of agent-based models of anti-microbial resistance. His current work at the Burnet Institute is on developing modelling tools to assist with budget allocation decisions for maternal, newborn and childhood health interventions.
