Shady Abdelsalam

Master’s Student
Background

Shady is a Master of Public Health (MPH) student at La Trobe University. Having completed his Bachelor of Dental Medicine & Surgery at Ain Shams University in Egypt in 2007, he went on to pursue a career in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) and obtained his MSc in OMFS from Cairo University in 2016.

His passion for public health, oral health and research led him to Australia to pursue an MPH at La Trobe in 2019. He is currently attached to the Alcohol and Other Drugs working group at the Burnet Institute, where his master's thesis research is involved with the oral health related quality of life (OHRQoL) of people who inject drugs (PWID).\nHe is under the supervision of Associate Professor Peter Higgs and Professor Paul Dietze.
