Background

Desi is a public health practitioner and PhD candidate at Monash University, specializing in adolescent health, tobacco control, maternal health, and health promotion. With a medical background from Indonesia, she has worked as a public health lecturer and researcher at Universitas Negeri Malang, leading studies on sexual health, gender analysis, and epidemiology.

She has collaborated on community health programs and received an Australian Government grant to research tailored sexual health education for young people in Papua, Indonesia.
