Background
David is a Research Assistant within the HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infection Prevention Group, which is led by Professor Mark Stoové.
He completed his Bachelor of Science (Nursing) in Perth, Australia and his Masters in Public Health, at Melbourne University specialising in Sexual Health.
David’s research thesis focused on menstrual hygiene management and sex education among young women and girls in rural secondary schools in Indonesia.
During the height of COVID-19, David worked at a local community health organisation in Melbourne and supported vulnerable communities in addressing health promotion and community welfare gaps to improve health equity and access.
His research interests include HIV/STI, health inequity, gender inequity, women’s health and health policy.
