Aye Thida Win

Background

Aye Thida Win is a public health professional with a Master of Public Health. She is currently working on an adolescent mental health project that aims to reduce the burden of psychological distress among adolescents aged 15-24 years in Myanmar. The project involves strengthening community-based delivery of mental health and psychosocial support. The aim is to prevent and treat mental health conditions and promote psychological wellbeing of young people.

Aye has a decade of experience in maternal, child, and adolescent sexual and reproductive health research in Myanmar, including policy and programming. She has worked on intervention studies and program evaluations aiming to improve adolescents' access to sexual and reproductive health information and services in Magway Region, Myanmar.

Aye also has expertise in conducting participatory research with young people from urban and rural areas of Myanmar.

Before joining Burnet, Aye taught at the University of Nursing, Yangon, Myanmar for 4 years. She worked on research around mental health nursing and support to clinical learning experiences. She also helped nurses build their skills.

Aye has also worked with USAID on maternal and child health aspects on the Shae Thot ‘The Way Forward’ project surrounding the central dry zone of Myanmar – otherwise known as Anyar.
