On behalf of the Institute, Burnet Director and CEO Professor Brendan Crabb AC would like to express his sadness at the death of Terry Snow AM this month, one of Australia’s most distinguished businessmen and philanthropists.

“Terry’s remarkable contributions have left an indelible mark on our community, and his loss will be profoundly felt by all who knew him,” Professor Crabb said.

“Terry was a visionary leader with integrity and compassion. His dedication to philanthropic endeavours was truly inspiring, and his legacy of generosity and innovation will continue to have an impact for years to come.”

Terry established The Snow Foundation alongside his brother George in 1991 and later the Snow Medical Research Foundation, which has contributed millions of dollars towards medical research, improving the lives of many.

Last year, Burnet Institute scientist Dr Michelle Boyle was awarded a Snow Medical Research Foundation Fellowship to support her malaria research. Dr Boyle will use the fellowship to develop urgently needed vaccines and therapeutics for malaria, one of the biggest killers in children under five globally.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Snow family at this difficult time.
