WHO recommendations on antenatal corticosteroids and tocolytics for improving preterm birth outcomes

The World Health Organization’s (WHO) recommendations on the use of antenatal corticosteroids and tocolytics need to be updated in light of new, important evidence on the use of these critical interventions.

The Global Women’s and Newborn’s Health group is conducting several evidence synthesis activities to support the update of these WHO recommendations, including systematic reviews of quantitative, qualitative and health economic evidence.

When published the recommendations will become the global standard on safe and appropriate use of these interventions.
