Alexander Eggleston

Honours student

Alexander is a current medical student at Monash University, who has taken a year off his MD program to complete an honours project at the Burnet Institute.

He moved to Melbourne from New South Wales to study medicine, and has developed a particular interest in both women’s and global health. With this in mind, Alexander joined the Global Women’s and Newborn’s Health team to complete a scoping review of maternal trials in low- and middle-income countries.

Alexander hopes to be able to utilise the skills and knowledge gained in his research year once he graduates and begins working as a clinical doctor, with potential for future involvement in research and global health initiatives.
