With lives at stake, there’s no time to waste. The Alastair Lucas Prize for Medical Research allows the highest calibre researchers to immediately start life-saving work.
As an Honours student at the Burnet Institute and Monash University, An’s research seeks to understand how the immune system uses different IgG antibody subclasses to eliminate malaria parasites from the body. She is working to ensure that future vaccines will induce an immune response that is most effective.
This project combines her interests in both immunology and aiding those in developing countries.
