RTI International senior executives enjoy a tour of Burnet's laboratories hosted by CEO, Brendan Crabb (far right) and Burnet staff
Burnet Institute recently hosted a visit by senior executives from the USA-based RTI International.
The visit was designed to increase mutual understanding of the research and public health activities that both organisations are involved in, leading to potential future collaborations.
RTI International is a consortium of USA universities and is probably one of a few organisations world-wide that have a similar research and public health mission to Burnet.
The partners comprise: North Carolina State University in Raleigh, Duke University in Durham, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and North Carolina Central University in Durham.
While our Centre for International Health already has collaborative programs with RTI International in China, the Mekong and Indonesia, we anticipate an increased range of joint programs in the future.
Visiting Burnet were RTI International’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Victoria Haynes; Executive Vice President, Discovery and Analytical Sciences, Dr Jennifer Hunter-Cevera; Vice President, International Health, Ms Barbara Kennedy; Asia Regional Director: HIV, Ms Felicity Young and Director of International Security, Mr Bill Marsden.
