Politicians and representatives from AusAID, the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the Global Fund joined Burnet Board members Natasha Stott Despoja AM and the Hon Barry Jones AO to celebrate the Institute’s contribution to global health.

Burnet Institute Director and CEO Professor Brendan Crabb said the event was a wonderful opportunity to highlight the Institute’s achievements over the past 25 years.

“Since 1986, the Institute has been working with a single mission, to achieve better health for poor and vulnerable communities in Australia and internationally through research, education and public health,” Professor Crabb said.

“Burnet Institute has developed a reputation for excellence in public and international health, implementing research findings to deliver better health outcomes.”

Ms Stott Despoja AM was looking forward to the event saying the Institute was one of the great medical research and public health organisations in Australia.
