Prospective scientists spent Thursday night exploring the many research opportunities available at Burnet Institute in 2015.
A crowd of students made the most of the AMREP Student Information Night, speaking with leading researchers from Burnet about projects for Honours, Masters and PhD.
Researchers from all three Burnet Centres were available to discuss options in Biomedical Research, Population Health and International Health.
Elisha Horat and Paul Rathbone provided students with a glimpse of researcher life at Burnet, with guided tours of the laboratories where staff conduct cutting-edge work.
Burnet Education Officer Dr Paul Ramsland provided advice for science and biomedical science students keen to progress their careers.
“It was great to see such a huge turn out of students, and that the laboratory tours were particularly popular,” he said.
“A broad range of Burnet’s interests were represented – from lab-based work through to public health projects.”
Many thanks to all Burnet staff who offered their time to inspire the students.
