Canadian Health Minister, the Honorable Rona Ambrose, visited Burnet Institute on Tuesday as part of her visit to Australia for the AIDS 2014 Conference.
The Minister’s visit included a tour of the Institute’s facilities, including the laboratory of Co-Head of Burnet’s Centre for Biomedical Research, Professor Sharon Lewin, who is the Local Chair of AIDS 2014.
Burnet Institute Director and CEO, Professor Brendan Crabb escorted the visit, introducing the Minister to Burnet’s HIV researchers and public health staff to develop closer ties and discuss a range of issues before the tour.
“It was a wonderful opportunity to meet our Canadian HIV research colleagues, and to explore opportunities for future collaboration,” Professor Crabb said.
