Filmed as part of TRANSMISSION: The journey from AIDS to HIV by Swedish Director Staffan Hildebrand, we hear from French virologist Professor Françoise Barré-Sinoussi who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2008, together with her former mentor, Luc Montagnier, for their discovery of HIV. Professor Barré-Sinoussi is also the International Co-Chair of the AIDS 2014 Conference.
Staffan also spoke with UNAIDS Executive Director, Mr Michel Sidibé about the UNAIDS role in HIV prevention and treatment internationally.
