PhD student Kerry Ko demonstrates how scientists use liquid nitrogen.

Burnet’s Day of Immunology ‘Discovery Tour’ attracted science fans young and old, who were keen to meet our talented scientists and go ‘behind the scenes’ on a tour of our labs.

Smoking liquid nitrogen, a pipetting machine and super-resolution microscopy were all part of the fun with participants getting a first-hand look at a day in the life of our scientists.

Postdoctoral scientist Dr Rachel Lundie and PhD student Kerry Ko hosted the event with students Xi Zen Yap, Brendan Elsworth, Tom Angelovich, Ben Fancke and Jun Gu presenting their latest discoveries.

Burnet’s Andrew Guy shows Strathmore Secondary College students some of our state-of-the-art equipment.
