Fabulous day out
With beaming smiles and a Romping spirit, people from all walks of life in unimaginable outfits turned out for a fabulous day of fun, adventure and laughs - all in the name of a great cause - raising money for Burnet’s fight against The Big Three.
Melbourne turned on spurts of sunshine to provide the perfect setting as Rompers,
with clue sheet and ROMP map in hand, explored 64 of the city’s iconic venues and checkpoints.
Burnet CEO, Brendan Crabb said it was terrific to see the public engaging with the Burnet staff at their checkpoint and learning more about our work.
“It’s events like this that provide a great opportunity for Burnet to reach new supporters and also spread the message about the work we do,” he said.
Laura West, team captain from ‘All Onsie and Onsie for All’ saw the Romp advertised on TV and thought it was a great way to raise money.
“We got a million compliments on our costumes and had a lot of fun plus we raised more than $500,” Laura said.
From a Kensington child care centre, ‘Keen, Caring City Chicks’ said the Melbourne City Romp was a great cause.
“It’s been a fantastic team building exercise and we had a great time, we had a lot of random people taking our photos and are already planning for next year,” team captain Cristina Manunzio said.
Third time Rompers, The Eurekas came as the Tellytubbies this year and said it was a fantastic way to spend an afternoon.
A BIG thanks to everyone who took part!
