Burnet Institute researchers will play an active role at the 49th Union World Conference on Lung Health at The Hague, the Netherlands from 24-27 October.
Infectious Diseases Specialist and Co-Head of Burnet’s TB Working Group, Dr Phillip du Cros and Burnet Senior Principal Research Fellow, Professor Steve Graham have been appointed joint Chairs of a symposium on preventive therapy for DS- and DR-TB in household contacts.
Burnet Deputy Program Director, Health Security, Dr Suman Majumdar will present ‘The preventive therapy cascade: implementation of preventive therapy in a remote island setting in Papua New Guinea’.
The Union World Conference on Lung Health is the world’s largest gathering of clinicians and public health workers, health program managers, policymakers, researchers and advocates working to end the suffering caused by lung disease, with a focus specifically on the challenges faced by low-and lower-middle income populations
The theme for the 2018 World Conference of The Union is Declaring Our Rights: Social and Political Solutions.
