Special screening of 'Every Last Child'

Global Ideas, with support from Burnet Institute, is partnering with London’s Global Health Film Festival to present the first screening of Every Last Child in the Southern Hemisphere.

Every Last Child tells the story of the fight to end polio in Pakistan - one of just two countries worldwide where polio remains endemic. Click here to view the trailer.

After premiering at the DOC NYC film festival in 2014, Every Last Child received glowing praise from critics at the New York Times, LA Times and Washington Post. To date, the film has only been screened at events in the USA and UAE.

Join us for an exclusive screening of this film, followed by a discussion panel featuring key figures in this ongoing fight. Drinks and light bites will be served from 6pm for a 6.30pm film screening.

Panel guests include:

  • Professor Mike Toole AM, Deputy Director of the Burnet Institute, and long term member of the International Monitoring Board of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative
  • Bruce Thorley, Head of WHO Polio Regional Reference Lab (Doherty Institute)
  • Leisel Trompf, from Global Poverty Project, recently returned from the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting where she pushed for polio funding commitments from Commonwealth leaders
  • Maree Nutt, CEO of RESULTS, a health and poverty advocacy organisation active in the polio campaign in Australia

Places are limited. Tickets are $15 and available through Eventbrite now!
