International Union Against TB & Lung Disease Asia Pacific Region Conference

The 5th Conference of the Asia Pacific Region of the International Union Against TB & Lung Disease (The Union) will be held in Sydney from the 31 August to 2 September, 2015.

The theme of the conference is to reduce the burden of TB and Lung Disease in our region by increasing the number of regional partnerships and expanding our existing partnerships.

The Conference will showcase up-to-date information and feature many of the region’s leading researchers and clinicians in the area of TB & Lung Disease, including Burnet’s Dr Suman Majumdar and Professor Steve Graham.

Dr Majumdar, an infectious diseases physician in the Centre for International Health, will address ‘The role of NGOs in global health solutions for TB control’.

A Burnet Senior Principal Research Fellow and a member of The Union’s Executive Scientific Committee, Professor Graham’s presentation is entitled ‘Know your epidemic - regional burden of childhood TB and taskforce’.

Plenary sessions, symposia, oral presentations, poster sessions, breakfast sessions and workshops will provide a wide range of forums about new developments and the opportunity to explore new partnerships.

The Conference program addresses the most pressing challenges for the future management of TB and respiratory disorders in the Asia Pacific Region.
