Burnet Institute will once again be at Midsumma, Victoria’s festival for the GLBTI communities, their families, friends, supporters, colleagues and community organisations.
Midsumma celebrates diversity, showcases established and emerging artists, and provides a focus for community campaigns.
A major highlight is the Carnival on Sunday 18 January at Alexandra Gardens on the banks of the Yarra in Melbourne, with more than 100,000 people expected to attend.
For the first time at Midsumma Carnival, the PRONTO! team will be taking their peer-led rapid HIV testing service to the people.
A collaborative initiative of Burnet and the Victorian AIDS Council, PRONTO! rapid HIV testing will be available in the privacy of the Burnet van, to be parked near all the Carnival activities on Boathouse Drive.
Just visit the PRONTO! booth, located next to the Burnet stand, to book an appointment.
Also at the Burnet Stand, meet GLOVEMAN! who will be spreading the safe sex message.
Draped in a red cape with red mask, red boots and red and white shorts, GLOVEMAN was a major hit with carnival goers last year as the promoter of Burnet’s public health campaign Protect, Prevent, Test which seeks to raise awareness around safe sex while reinforcing the message to test often.
Get snapped with GLOVEMAN in our special Polite in Public photo booth and you can go in the draw to win an overnight stay in a Studio Suite at The Cullen Hotel.*
