AIDS 2014: Connect with Schools Program

The AIDS 2014 Connect with Schools Program is an initiative supported by Burnet Institute, Monash University’s Infectious Disease Unit, Youth Empowerment Against HIV/AIDS (YEAH), The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute (WEHI) and Gene Technology Access Centre (GTAC).

Schools can nominate between 2-5 students to attend a 90-minute workshop during AIDS 2014 in the Global Village.

The programs are tailored towards Victorian High School students in years 8-12. They will explore the scientific, social and political challenges associated with the HIV and AIDS epidemic. The workshops will enable students to become ambassadors of positive change among their peers and enable them to run workshops of their own in their school setting.
