Women have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19.

  • 70 percent of health workers and first responders are women.
  • Victorian women have lost more jobs than men since the pandemic began.
  • Emerging data shows that since the outbreak of COVID-19, violence against women and girls, and particularly domestic violence, has intensified.

Your gift today will go directly to research and programs here at Burnet helping women and girls who impacted by COVID-19.

International Women’s Day is always an important day for us, and this year we are using it as a platform to acknowledge, celebrate and support the work being done by women here at the Institute specifically to support women and girls affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Four very generous donors have pledged to match gifts to a combined total of $20,000. So donate on or before International Women’s Day, Monday 8 March, and DOUBLE your gift.
