International Clinical Research Laboratory (iCRL)

The international Clinical Research Laboratory (iCRL) is one of the few laboratories worldwide with expertise in all aspects of HIV lab monitoring including:


  • general laboratory capacity building and strengthening covering laboratory establishment or expansion
  • laboratory safety practices
  • work flow
  • document management
  • development of standard operating procedures
  • staff mentoring and retainment
  • quality assurance
  • training programs in point-of-care diagnostic assays in resource-constrained countries.


  • Until 2015, the iCRL was the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Reference Laboratory for HIV Drug Resistance testing for the Asia-Pacific Region
