Building on Burnet’s technical expertise in delivering quality research and public health program outcomes.

Building on the rich history of Burnet's technical expertise in delivering quality research and public health program outcomes.

The cross-cutting Discipline - International Development - is a community of practice that supports our researchers and public health professionals with common skills and needs, and develop greater technical depth and expertise across the Institute.

Heading the International Development Discipline is Dr Chris Morgan, who is also a lead investigator on Burnet’s Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies (HMHB) research program based in PNG.

Creating evidence-based research to improve the health of vulnerable communities across the Asia-Pacific region, China and Zimbabwe, is a key focus of work underway by our specialists in international development. This includes landmark projects such as the HMHB program in East New Britain, PNG.

For more than two decades, Burnet has also responded to health priorities in developing countries through the provision of technical advice and support, organisational capacity building, applied research, policy analysis and development, and training and education programs.
